“Marijuana should not only be legalized, it should be mandatory.”
I admit this left me speechless at times. This alarming video is from a Christian perspective, so relax and prepare to be saved, or something.
Imagine if this would be mandatory learning in school. Pass this on and let’s hope that all humanity hears this story. The Matrix is destroying us and most of us have no clue. We go to church, school, work, reproduce, and we do so without understanding we are being manipulated by forces that are too surreal to comprehend. Think multiverse and alternative realities.

A mass uprising against the Irish government would be joined by more than half of young people in the country, a survey has indicated.
Fifty four per cent of 18 – 34-year-olds said they would take part in a “large scale uprising against the generation in power if it happened in the next days or months”.
The survey polled nearly 20,000 people in Ireland as part of the European Broadcasting Union’s Generation What? research.

– The Dalai Lama (source)
For a long time, science and spirituality were considered to be opposing views, creating this polarization of both subjects. You were either a “Man of God” or a “Man of Science,” with no middle ground. However, we’re now observing a merging of both science and spirituality through quantum physics and the study of consciousness, shattering old thought patterns and putting an end to the previous “tug of war” between the two subjects.
Quantum physics is verifying what Buddhists and other spiritual practitioners have been saying for years, helping people to accept their inherent spiritual nature all around the world. We are fundamentally connected to everything around us, and science is finally proving that. Nevertheless, there’s still a lingering dualistic air surrounding science and spirituality: You have religious people denying scientific facts and scientists identifying themselves as self-proclaimed Atheists. However, we’re simultaneously seeing a merging of the two, and it’s truly beautiful.
Many prominent religious figures and scientists have recognized the interconnectedness between spirituality and the scientific community, including the Dalai Lama. The Dalai Lama has spoken out on numerous occasions about the similarities between quantum physics and spirituality. In fact, he even attended a conference on quantum physics and delivered a speech on the subject.
In November 2015, Tenzin Gyatso, the 14th Dalai Lama, attended a two-day conference on quantum physics and Madhyamaka philosophy in New Delhi. Madhyamaka translates to “one who holds to the middle” or “the middle way” and belongs to the Mahayana school of thought in Buddhism, which was developed by the Indian Buddhist philosopher Nagarjuna during the second century.
The conference explored a variety of topics relating to human consciousness, science, and Buddhism and included a panel of experts, physicists, and monastic scholars. The Dalai Lama was one of the speakers, and according to him, reconciling science and religious philosophies may be essential to the future of our species.
“I hope conferences like this can address two purposes: extending our knowledge and improving our view of reality so we can better tackle our disturbing emotions,” the Dalai Lama said. “Early in my lifetime, science was employed to further material and economic development. Later in the 20th century, scientists began to see that peace of mind is important for physical health and well-being… As a result of combining warm-heartedness with intelligence, I hope we’ll be better equipped to contribute to humanity’s well-being.”
The Dalai Lama also explained how he first came into studying quantum physics:
When I was about 19 or 20 I developed a curiosity about science that had begun with an interest in mechanical things and how they worked. In China in 1954/5 I met Mao Zedong several times. Once he commended me for having a scientific mind, adding that religion was poison, perhaps presuming that this would appeal so someone who was ‘scientific minded’. After coming to India as a refugee I had many opportunities to meet people from many different walks of life, scientists among them. 30 years ago I began a series of dialogues focusing on cosmology, neurobiology, physics, including Quantum Physics, and psychology. These discussions have been largely of mutual benefit. Scientists have learned more about the mind and emotions, while we have gained a subtler explanation of matter.
Perhaps the most intriguing part of this quote is the fact that the Dalai Lama interpreted Zedong’s harsh words against religion as being somewhat appealing to someone with a “scientific mind.” This speaks to the belief system of science and religion being polar opposites. If you were a scientist, it was almost a social norm to make fun of religion, and vice versa, and that still remains true today.
He continues:
About 15-20 years ago at some meeting, the Indian physicist Raja Ramanna told me that he had been reading Nagarjuna and that he’d been amazed to find that much of what he had to say corresponded to what he understood of quantum physics. A year ago at Presidency College in Kolkata the Vice-Chancellor Prof S Bhattacharya mentioned that according to quantum physics nothing exists objectively, which again struck me as corresponding to Chittamatrin and Madhyamaka views, particularly Nagarjuna’s contention that things only exist by way of designation.
Source: Mainstream Media Finally Exposes CIA Drug Trafficking Conspiracy in Explosive History Channel Series
thefreethoughtproject.com
Richard Nixon, in his effort to silence black people and antiwar activists, brought the War on Drugs into full force in 1973. He then signed Reorganization Plan No. 2, which established the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). Over the course of five decades, this senseless war has waged on. At a cost of over $1 trillion — ruining and ending countless lives in the process — America’s drug war has created a drug problem that is worse now than ever before.
This is no coincidence.
For years, those of us who’ve been paying attention have seen who profits from this inhumane war — the police state and cartels.
This horrendously corrupt and violent drug war has gotten so bad, that it is getting pushed into the mainstream. In an extremely rare move, A&E Networks, a subsidiary of ABC and the Walt Disney Company, will be addressing the government’s role in the drug war in a four-part documentary series on the History Channel, titled, “America’s War on Drugs.”
In this documentary, History channel promises to delve into items that, up until recently, were considered ‘conspiracy theory.’ CIA drug dealing is one of those such items. According to the description on A&E:
“America’s War of Drugs” is an immersive trip through the last five decades, uncovering how the CIA, obsessed with keeping America safe in the fight against communism, allied itself with the mafia and foreign drug traffickers. In exchange for support against foreign enemies, the groups were allowed to grow their drug trade in the United States.
Promising to be one of the most explosive television series in recent history, the show intends to expose the CIA’s connection to the crack epidemic.
Night one of “America’s War on Drugs” divulges covert Cold War operations that empowered a generation of drug traffickers and reveals the peculiar details of secret CIA LSD experiments which helped fuel the counter-culture movement, leading to President Nixon’s crackdown and declaration of a war on drugs. The documentary series then delves into the rise of the cocaine cowboys, a secret island “cocaine base,” the CIA’s connection to the crack epidemic, the history of the cartels and their murderous tactics, the era of “Just Say No,” the negative effect of NAFTA, and the unlikely career of an almost famous Midwest meth queen.
If the CIA trafficking cocaine into the United States sounds like some tin foil conspiracy theory, think again. Their role in the drug trade was exposed in 1996 in a critical investigative series “Dark Alliance” by Gary Webb for the San Jose Mercury News. The investigation, headed up by Webb revealed ties between the CIA, Nicaraguan contras and the crack cocaine trade ravaging African-American communities.
The investigation provoked massive protests and congressional hearings, as well as overt backlash from the mainstream media to discredit Webb’s reporting. However, decades later, officials would come forward to back Webb’s original investigation up.
Then-senator John Kerry even released a detailed report claiming that not only was there “considerable evidence” linking the Contra effort to trafficking of drugs and weapons — but that the U.S. government knew about it.
Also, as the Free Thought Project previously reported, in a new book, Juan Pablo Escobar Henao, son of notorious Medellín cartel drug kingpin, Pablo Escobar, explains how his father “worked for the CIA.”
In the book, “Pablo Escobar In Fraganti,” Escobar, who lives under the pseudonym, Juan Sebastián Marroquín, explains his “father worked for the CIA selling cocaine to finance the fight against Communism in Central America.”
Going even further down the rabbit hole, the History Channel will address how US involvement in Afghanistan turned the country into a virtual heroin factory and how the drug war empowers cartels.
The final chapter of the series examines how the attacks on September 11thintertwined the War on Drugs and the War on Terror, transforming Afghanistan into a narco-state teeming with corruption. It also explores how American intervention in Mexico helped give rise to El Chapo and the Super Cartels, bringing unprecedented levels of violence and sending even more drugs across America’s borders.
The reason why the drug war actually creates a drug and violence problem is simple. And those who profit most from the drug war — drug war enforcers and cartels — all know it. When the government makes certain substances illegal, it does not remove the demand. Instead, the state creates crime by pushing the sale and control of these substances into the illegal black markets. All the while, demand remains constant.
We can look at the prohibition of alcohol and the subsequent mafia crime wave that ensued as a result as an example. The year 1930, at the peak of prohibition, happened to be the deadliest year for police in American history. 300 police officers were killed, and innumerable poor people slaughtered as the state cracked down on drinkers.
Outlawing substances does not work.
Criminal gangs form to protect sales territory and supply lines. They then monopolize the control of the constant demand. Their entire operation is dependent upon police arresting people for drugs because this grants them a monopoly on their sale.
However, the illegality of drug possession and use is what keeps the low-level users and dealers in and out of the court systems, and most of these people are poor black men. As Dr. Ron Paul has pointed out, black people are more likely to receive a harsher punishment for the same drug crime as a white person.
This revolving door of creating and processing criminals fosters the phenomenon known as Recidivism. Recidivism is a fundamental concept of criminal justice that shows the tendency of those who are processed into the system and the likelihood of future criminal behavior.
The War on Drugs takes good people and turns them into criminals every single minute of every single day. The system is setup in such a way that it fans the flames of violent crime by essentially building a factory that turns out violent criminals.
The system knows this too — as the very existence of the police state is dependent upon the drug war. When drugs are legal, there are far fewer doors to kick in, fines to collect, profit prisons to fill, and money to steal.
When drugs are legalized, gang violence drops too — drastically. Not only does it have a huge effect on the localized gangs in America, but the legalization of drugs is crippling to the violent foreign drug cartels too.
This is why the Free Thought Project and other open-minded groups all advocate bringing this bloody and criminally ineffective drug war to a sudden and grinding halt.
Hopefully, the History Channel’s new documentary will push others to question drug laws. Hopefully, the documentary wakes people up the idea that legality does not equal morality and that government force, via kidnapping, caging, and killing, is no way to solve an addiction problem. Hopefully.
Wikileaks has obtained and decrypted this previously unreleased video footage from a US Apache helicopter in 2007. It shows Reuters journalist Namir Noor-Eldeen, driver Saeed Chmagh, and several others as the Apache shoots and kills them in a public square in Eastern Baghdad. They are apparently assumed to be insurgents. After the initial shooting, an unarmed group of adults and children in a minivan arrives on the scene and attempts to transport the wounded. They are fired upon as well. The official statement on this incident initially listed all adults as insurgents and claimed the US military did not know how the deaths ocurred. Wikileaks released this video with transcripts and a package of supporting documents on April 5th 2010 on http://collateralmurder.com
Ron Paul scolds President Trump on Wikileaks witch-hunt.
Source: Ron Paul tells President Trump to back off of Assange, and stop being such a “hypocrite”
April 25, 2017
US President Trump’s latest, and perhaps greatest pivot comes at the expense of press freedom, and Julian Assange’s freedom.
From “l love Wikileaks” as a US presidential candidate, to “I hate Wikileaks” as President…Trump is in danger of alienating more of his hardcore base, already disillusioned with the POTUS’ myriad of campaign promises turned presidential lies.
Ron Paul is not giving President Trump a pass on the Wikileaks witch-hunt. In a post entitled, ” Candidate Trump: ‘I Love Wikileaks.’ President Trump: ‘Arrest Assange!’“, Paul blasts Trump’s “hypocrisy”, noting that “if we allow this president to declare war on those who tell the truth, we have only ourselves to blame.”
“I love Wikileaks,” candidate Donald Trump said on October 10th on the campaign trail. He praised the organization for reporting on the darker side of the Hillary Clinton campaign. It was information likely leaked by a whistleblower from within the Clinton campaign to Wikileaks.
Back then he praised Wikileaks for promoting transparency, but candidate Trump looks less like President Trump every day. The candidate praised whistleblowers and Wikileaks often on the campaign trail. In fact, candidate Trump loved Wikileaks so much he mentioned the organization more than 140 times in the final month of the campaign alone! Now, as President, it seems Trump wants Wikileaks founder Julian Assange sent to prison.
Last week CNN reported, citing anonymous “intelligence community” sources, that the Trump Administration’s Justice Department was seeking the arrest of Assange and had found a way to charge the Wikileaks founder for publishing classified information without charging other media outlets such as the New York Times and Washington Post for publishing the same information.
It might have been tempting to write off the CNN report as “fake news,” as is much of their reporting, but for the fact President Trump said in an interview on Friday that issuing an arrest warrant for Julian Assange would be, “OK with me.”
Trump’s condemnation of Wikileaks came just a day after his CIA Director, Michael Pompeo, attacked Wikileaks as a “hostile intelligence service.” Pompeo accused Assange of being “a fraud — a coward hiding behind a screen.”
Pompeo’s word choice was no accident. By accusing Wikileaks of being a “hostile intelligence service” rather than a publisher of information on illegal and abusive government practices leaked by whistleblowers, he signaled that the organization has no First Amendment rights. Like many in Washington, he does not understand that the First Amendment is a limitation on government rather than a granting of rights to citizens. Pompeo was declaring war on Wikileaks.
But not that long ago Pompeo also cited Wikileaks as an important source of information. In July he drew attention to the Wikileaks release of information damaging to the Clinton campaign, writing, “Need further proof that the fix was in from President Obama on down?”
There is a word for this sudden about-face on Wikileaks and the transparency it provides us into the operations of the prominent and powerful: hypocrisy.
The Trump Administration’s declaration of war on whistleblowers and Wikileaks is one of the greatest disappointments in these first 100 days. Donald Trump rode into the White House with promises that he would “drain the swamp,” meaning that he would overturn the apple carts of Washington’s vested interests. By unleashing those same vested interests on those who hold them in check – the whistleblowers and those who publish their revelations – he has turned his back on those who elected him.
Julian Assange, along with the whistleblowers who reveal to us the evil that is being done in our name, are heroes. They deserve our respect and admiration, not a prison cell. If we allow this president to declare war on those who tell the truth, we have only ourselves to blame.

In recent years, much information about the ancients has circulated online, some of which is ill-informed and on the other hand, some of which may be shockingly accurate.
One of the most controversial topics in the field of archaeology and anthropology is the interpretation of the teachings of Ancient Egypt.
Many scholars in recent years have identified uncanny similarities in the beliefs and traditions of the ancient land of Khemit and schools of thought around the ancient world.
One of the more compelling arguments for the disbursement of the sacred traditions and astronomical knowledge of the ancient Egyptians comes from researcher and author Laird Scranton.
In his work, he makes some interesting correlations between the people of the Dogon tribe of Mali and those from the ancient land of Khemit.
Inspired by the work of Robert Temple, who’s 1976 book “The Sirius Mystery” which would go on to influence future researchers, Scranton pointed out the cosmological significance of the Dogon beliefs.
In his work, “The Science of the Dogon,” Scranton describes the incredible accuracy with which the Dogon people were able to use their language and symbols to account for complex scientific facts that wouldn’t be discovered in the West until the 20th century.
Yet, mainstream scholars who reject the notion of this kind of advanced understanding of Sirius by a tribe deemed primitive, proclaim that the Dogon-Sirius mystery is nothing more than a 1965 hoax put on by two French anthropologists Grisule and Dierterlen.
The two were the first to reveal such an unusual idea to the public in an unprecedented filmed interview.
Since then, not a single anthropologist has corroborated the findings, although the subject has been heavily examined by independent researchers.
But Laird is quick to point out that there are many more mysteries surrounding the knowledge of the Dogon priest (Hogon) that can’t be chalked up to a single interview.
According to the Earth Center, Master Neb Naba Lamoussa Morodenibig, a modern day Kemetic Dogon priest claims that the Dogon tradition has been preserved over time and it’s origins lie in Egypt.
When considered, how did these two French men have enough knowledge of the workings of the Sirius star system for such an elaborate hoax? The second star of the Sirius Galaxy, referenced by the tribe, wasn’t discovered by NASA until the 80s.
Could all of it be true? Could the Dogon people really have had a complex scientific understanding of the cosmos? And more could this ancient knowledge go back to ancient Egypt?

Wolfowitz was elated when he heard that Trump attacked Syria, and he has had private email conversation with “Trump Defense Secretary Jim Mattis and national security advisor H.R. McMaster, both longtime contacts since his Bush days.” He hopes that the Trump adiministration “will pursue a U.S. strategy of stepped-up engagement in the Middle East.”
The Satanists who literally created chaos in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Libya are back in the White House. They are currently chilling with the Trump administration. One of those Satanists is none other than Paul Wolfowitz. A little background of this dude.
When he was told by deputy national security advisor Stephen Hadley that there was no link between Al Qaeda and Saddam Hussein, Wolfowitz responded with certainty, “We’ll find it. It’s got to be there,”[1] which is another way of saying that if it does not exist, they would make it up.
Both Wolfowitz and Douglas Feith were under investigation for passing classified documents to Israel.[2] In other words, these people were and obviously still are agents of the Israeli regime. It must be stated in passing that the FBI has numerous documents tracing Israel’s espionage in the U.S.,[3] but no one has come forward and declared it explicitly in the media because most value their careers and lives.
For example, when two top AIPAC officials—Steven Rosen and Keith Weissman—were caught passing classified documents from the Pentagon to Israel, Gabriel Schoenfeld defended them.[4] In the annual FBI report called “Foreign Economic Collection and Industrial Espionage,” Israel is a major country that pops up quite often.[5]
This is widely known among CIA and FBI agents and U.S. officials for years.[6] One former U.S. intelligence official declared,
“There is a huge, aggressive, ongoing set of Israeli activities directed against the United States. Anybody who worked in counterintelligence in a professional capacity will tell you the Israelis are among the most aggressive and active countries targeting the United States. They undertake a wide range of technical operations and human operations. People here as liaisons… aggressively pursue classified intelligence from people. The denials are laughable.”[7]
In 1991, the Israeli tried to recruit a former U.S. intelligence official, but he declined. “I had an Israeli intelligence officer pitch me in Washington at the time of the first Gulf War. I said, ‘No, go away,’ and reported it to counterintelligence.”[8]
Covert operations were done by the Israelis in “a 1997 case in which the National Security Agency bugged two Israeli intelligence officials in Washington discussing efforts to obtain a sensitive U.S. diplomatic document. Israel denied wrongdoing in that case and all others, and no one has been prosecuted.”[9]
Yet this has rarely seen the light of day in the popular media. Pointing these facts out, according to the reasoning of Omri Ceren of Commentary, is tantamount to anti-Semitism.[10] And since criticism of Israel and Jewish behavior is anti-Semitism, then Satanists like Paul Wolfowitz can walk on the political platform as they so choose because no one can touch them.
Wolfowitz has obviously seen that Iraq is not paradise, but he still wants to bludgeon America in the region—presumably for Israel. “The alternative is to let a very important, critical part of the world go to hell literally and lose American influence,” he declares. “We may not like to talk about oil, but this is the engine of the world economy and if it’s dominated by the wrong people, the consequences here in the United States are very serious.”[11]
Wolfowitz was elated when he heard that Trump attacked Syria, and he has had private email conversation with “Trump Defense Secretary Jim Mattis and national security advisor H.R. McMaster, both longtime contacts since his Bush days.” He hopes that the Trump administration “will pursue a U.S. strategy of stepped-up engagement in the Middle East.”[12]
Wolfowitz actually sees the Trump administration as a puppet which needs to be manipulated. “I think there is a fantastic opportunity here,” he diabolically declared. “It’s only a first step, it’s only an opportunity.”[13]
Opportunity to do what? To con the American people again? To send a six-trillion dollar bill to decent Americans who cannot even afford to feed their families? To loot pension funds for perpetual wars?
Keep in mind that Wolfowitz completely disavowed Trump during his election precisely because Trump kept talking about “America First,” an idea which is antithetical to perpetual wars in the Middle East. Now Satanists like Wolfowitz are all over the Trump administration because Trump has already prostrated before them.

‘We are united by our belief that diplomacy is the only way to resolve the nuclear crisis and threat of war now facing the Korean peninsula’
Source: Women From 40 Countries Demand Trump Avert Nuclear War With North Korea | Common Dreams
Leaders in the U.S. and North Korea are not backing down when it comes to escalating tensions in the Korean peninsula, and on Wednesday a unified plea from 40 women leaders around the world demanded that President Donald Trump immediately seek a peace treaty between South Korea and nuclear-armed North Korea.
“This endless militarization must stop.”
—WomenCrossDMZThe women belong to the group WomenCrossDMZ, and “are from academia, business, civil society and the military, and represent a diversity of ethnicities, nationalities, religions, and political views,” the letter (pdf) reads. “We are united by our belief that diplomacy is the only way to resolve the nuclear crisis and threat of war now facing the Korean peninsula.”
Christine Ahn, a peace activist and organizer for WomenCrossDMZ, told the New York Times that the group of women thought of the letter as “our own Scud missile” to put a halt to the frightening escalation of tensions.
“We urge you to do the following to avert war in Korea and bring about a long-desired peace on the peninsula,” the women urged:
“Since 1950, the Korean peninsula has been threatened with nuclear weapons, missile tests, and military exercises that have only served to make 75 million Korean people less secure,” the women write. “In the United States and on both sides of the Korean De-Militarized Zone, the absence of a binding peace accord fuels fear and economic deprivation caused by diverting public resources in preparation for war, including deploying the controversial THAAD missile defense system in South Korea. This endless militarization must stop.”
Indeed, the U.S. provoked local protests in a small rural village in South Korea Wednesday when it moved parts of the anti-missile defense system called Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) there, Reuters reported.
“Protesters shouted and hurled water bottles at [military trailers carrying equipment] over lines of police holding them back,” the wire service wrote.
The U.S. also earned additional criticism from China for its actions. Reuters reported:
“China strongly urges the United States and South Korea to stop actions that worsen regional tensions and harm China’s strategic security interests and cancel the deployment of the THAAD system and withdraw the equipment,” Chinese foreign ministry spokesman Geng Shuang told a briefing.
“China will resolutely take necessary steps to defend its interests,” Geng said, without elaborating.
The letter came as Trump prepares to brief the U.S. Senate Wednesday on the heightened situation in the Korean peninsula. Trump made the unusual move of inviting all members of the Senate to the White House for the briefing, Reuters noted.
Francis Boyle, professor of international law at the University of Illinois College of Law, warned about the possible plans of the Trump administration:
This is a dangerous situation because what Trump could be doing here is to lay some bogus Constitutional predicate for war against DPRK [North Korea], claiming that he’s consulting Congress. In fact, Trump has no authorization for war against DPRK. There was never a Declaration of War by Congress against DPRK. He is currently in violation of the War Powers Resolution Section 2(c) since he is putting U.S. armed forces ‘into situations where imminent involvement in hostilities is clearly indicated by the circumstances.’ He would also be violating the United Nations Charter because the Security Council has not authorized the use of military force to deal with the current situation.
The briefing is scheduled for 3pm.
Following the Senate briefing, the United Nations Security Council will discuss stepping up sanctions against North Korea on Friday, Reuters reports. U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson will be attending. Tillerson previously vowed that when it comes to North Korea, all options, including a “preemptive strike,” are on the table.
North Korea’s foreign ministry condemned the upcoming U.N. meeting. “It is a wild dream for the U.S. to think of depriving the DPRK of its nuclear deterrent through military threat and sanctions. It is just like sweeping the sea with a broom,” the agency said.
“For more than 70 years, isolation, arms, troops, and doomsday threats have been used to separate a once-unified country,” feminist activist and author Gloria Steinem said, according to a press release from WomenCrossDMZ. “Isn’t it time that leaders stop, recognize danger, and listen?”
A team of scientists believe they have found evidence of human activity in North America that dates back 130,000 years ago — more than 100,000 years earlier than believed.
By Nicole Mortillaro
Apr 26, 2017
A team of scientists believe they have found evidence of human activity in North America that dates back 130,000 years — more than 100,000 years earlier than believed.
The evidence comes from an archeological site in San Diego County, Calif. In 1992, a site was uncovered containing mastodon bones, along with stone anvils and hammerstones. Dating the tools proved to be challenging. However, using recent technology, including uranium dating, the team believes they have firm evidence that humans were using tools to break apart the bones and make other tools.
“When you look at the evidence — the material, the nature of the wear pattern on the bones, the actual mapping of the site — the evidence is absolutely incontrovertible,” Richard Fullagar, co-author of the paper that appeared in Nature said during a teleconference.
‘I was skeptical when I first looked at the material myself, but it’s definitely an archeological site.’ – Steve Holen, researcher
The find is controversial, as there has been a consensus among paleontologists and anthropologists that humans made the journey to North America roughly 15,000 years ago.
The bones of the mastodon were arranged at the site — known as the Cerutti Mastodon site — in such a way that suggests it wasn’t done naturally. It’s not believed that the humans killed the animal, however. Instead, it’s likely they were breaking up the limb bones, removing parts of the bones and probably making tools with them. They also may have extracted marrow from the bones for nutrition.
The bones also displayed spiral fractures, which suggests that they were broken while fresh and not some years later. Five large hammerstones and anvils also show wear and tear that didn’t occur through geological processes, the researchers said.
“What’s truly remarkable about this site is that you can actually identify a particular hammer that was smacked on a particular anvil in a bunch of broken bones, and fragments of those hammers and anvils that can be refitted to the stones. It’s very rare that you get that whole package together in one site,” Fullagar said. “So the evidence at this site is truly remarkable and really does demonstrate human interference.”
In order to replicate the types of fractures, the scientists used similar tools on elephant bones, which resulted in the same spirals.
Steve Holen, from the Center for American Paleolithic Research and a co-author, said that the breaking of the bones wasn’t done by carnivore chewing or animals trampling on the bones.
“When we eliminate all the other natural processes and we can reproduce this experiment, we have very strong evidence,” he said.
The findings challenge current evidence that suggests humans arrived in North America about 15,000 years ago and will most certainly be carefully scrutinized, something the authors are well aware of. During their press conference on Tuesday, they invited other researchers to examine the evidence, some of which will be on display at the San Diego Natural History Museum next week.
‘I’d say the jury’s still out. There’s still some information missing.’ – Ariane Burke, Universite de Montreal
“I know people will be skeptical of this because this is so surprising,” Holen said. “I was skeptical when I first looked at the material myself, but it’s definitely an archeological site.”
Ariane Burke, an anthropology professor at the University of Montreal, said that she’d like to see more analysis of the bones and tools before concluding that humans were indeed here so long ago.
“Normally at an archeological site you find chipped stone tools, irrespective of what they’re doing at the site. People are notorious litterbugs, even back then,” she told CBC News. “So you kind of expect to see some of that trace of a human presence. I’m not saying they’re absolutely wrong and it cannot be a human site, but I’d say the jury’s still out. There’s still some information missing.”
Burke said that she’d specifically like to see a closer examination of the surface damage of the bones. She’s particularly puzzled by the lack of cut marks, but says theycould be obscured by the surface damage.
As for whether or not the bones could have been broken by heavy machines or vehicles, the authors are adamant that that’s not the case.
The researchers are confident that under careful examination, other scientists will come to the same conclusions.
“If they look carefully at this paper, that’s been through rigorous peer review that Nature insists for their publication, if people honestly look at the data … and have questions they want to pose, we are open for this sort of scholarly assessment of our work,” said Thomas Demere, curator of paleontology at the San Diego Natural History Museum.
“And people are welcome to come to the museum to examine these specimens for themselves.”

(ANTIMEDIA) — Protest songs are an important part of our culture. Unfortunately, music has moved away from the days when artists like Bob Dylan and Neil Young were cranking out incredible tunes railing against the government and establishment.
However, we seem to be experiencing a resurgence of that trend. While pop musicians like the Chainsmokers are singing about living in Paris and Bieber is apologizing and calling everybody baby, hip-hop has taken the torch that was passed from folk music to punk. Here are a few of the best “fuck the system” songs from the past two decades.
We’re revolutionizing the news industry, but we need your help! Click here to get started.
1. Lupe Fiasco – “Words I Never Said”
Lupe was born Wasalu Muhammad Jaco, and while a lot of his songs don’t have much to do with “the man,” this hit is a great track. The opening bars feature the lines, “I really think the war on terror is a bunch of bullshit, just a poor excuse for you to use up all your bullets.” The incredibly talented Skylar Grey also sings on the track, which stresses the importance of speaking out against injustice. “It’s so loud inside my head with words that I never said/As I drown in my regret, I can’t take back the words I never said,” goes the chorus.
2. Killer Mike – “Reagan”
Killer Mike’s music has always had an underlying tone of social commentary. During the 2016 election he campaigned with Bernie Sanders, and his group “Run the Jewels” has been enjoying a good deal of popularity recently. “Reagan,” which was released in 2012, features clips of the late president speaking. Reagan’s “War on Drugs” was a particularly painful endeavor that didn’t actually serve to curb drug use in the United States. As Killer Mike spits, “They declared the war on drugs like a war on terror/But all it really did was let the police terrorize whoever.”
3. Macklemore – “Drug Dealer”
Macklemore isn’t a typical rapper by anyone’s standards. The Seattle musician has made two songs addressing white privilege, and in a number of his hits, he discusses his struggles with opioid addiction. In “Drug Dealer,” he offers a more polished take. With stunning vocals by Ariana Deboo, this is the kind of tune you might want to sit down for.
4. Jedi Mind Tricks – “Uncommon Valor”
Jedi Mind Tricks dishes out the type of hip-hop that makes Jeff Sessions run and hide. They’re bold, in-your-face, and they have no qualms about speaking their minds. Perhaps their most admirable quality is the fact that that they never sold out. The Philadelphia-based musicians never put out an album with a major record label, and that left them free to rap about things they’re passionate about. In “Uncommon Valor,” the group addresses the Vietnam War with lines like “I don’t know why I’m over here, this job is evil/They sent me here to Vietnam to kill innocent people.”
5. Anti-Flag – “Die for Your Government”
Anti-Flag is one of the best punk bands of the last few decades. While many groups have lost their edge and gone mainstream, Anti-Flag has consistently cranked out hard-hitting punk for over twenty years. “Die for Your Government” is from 1996, and the chorus is the kind of kick-ass, gritty punk that will have you looking for a moshpit. Just try not to scream along with the lines. “They’ve done it before and don’t you know they’ll do it again/A secret test, government built virus ‘subject test group: Gulf battlefield troops.’”
6. Rage Against the Machine – “Bombtrack”
No list of protest songs would be complete without a Rage track. The group has enjoyed so much success that even Republican poster boy Ted Cruz lists them among his favorite bands (the group has termed Cruz part of the “machine” they’re raging against). “Bombtrack” features the lines, “Landlords and power whores/On my people they took turns/Dispute the suits I ignite and then watch ’em burn.” It’s a middle finger to the system and has had stadiums bouncing on their toes for decades.
7. Kendrick Lamar – “Alright”
Kendrick Lamar might just be the face of hip-hop; any serious fans of hip-hop are fans of Kendrick. “Alright” is a song off his wildly successful record To Pimp a Butterfly. It was so big even the New York Times did a profile of the rapper. The music video is incredibly powerful and features lines like “Painkillers only put me in the twilight.” Fox News’ Geraldo Rivera called a performance of the song “disgusting,” and if Fox News doesn’t like you, then you’re probably doing something right.
8. Immortal Technique – “Cause of Death”
Immortal Technique is another underground hip-hop artist that punches you in the gut with his songs. “Cause of Death” features killer lines including “That’s why conservative racists are all runnin’ shit/and your phone is tapped by the Federal Government.” He’s still performing today, and his albums have all been released by independent record labels.
9. Aimee Mann – “Can’t You Tell”
Aimee Mann is the oddball on this list in that she’s the only folk artist. Mann was featured on the “30 Days, 30 Songs” playlist. “Can’t You Tell” is a song that quite clearly targets Trump. While the rest of this list consists of hard-hitting tunes, “Can’t You Tell” will just have you humming along with lines like “I don’t want this job/can’t you tell/I’m unwell.”
With any luck, protest songs will once again become a large part of the musical spectrum. It’s both exciting and important that artists like Kendrick Lamar and Lupe Fiasco are making music that addresses the issues faced by our societies. The “Black Lives Matter” movement has already had a noticeable influence on hip-hop music.
Unfortunately, punk has seemed to drift away from the roots of a borderline anarchistic distaste for power-hungry suits. While it would be wonderful to see that fire return in the form of face-melting guitar riffs, the moment may well have passed.
